My littlest man couldn’t get any cuter. Heart melting. More to edit, but had to share.
Happy Holidays! I am so glad to be back and blogging after a week of holiday eating, visits from Santa, and family fun! I love this time of year. I LOVE Christmas time. Thinking of the holidays made me think about what a wonderful gift a photography session can be. Here is an example of a mini-session that I completed in November that was a family gift. Mini-sessions are really meant for families that are looking for a quick simple shoot. They are often a little more traditional than my typical full length session (as the basis is usually for a much needed “family photo”). However, there is always a little time for some candid fun and fun shoots in these mini-sessions. I will be offering a round of Spring Mini-Sessions in March.
This session was absolutely lovely. I got to work with a beautiful, kind group of people and found a new fantastic location. We worked in the Rough Hollow division in Lakeway, TX. Lakeway is just busting with beautiful photo opportunities as it has lovely views of the Texas Hill Country, the lakes, and beautiful greenery.
As always I think the C family for the wonderful opportunity to work with them. They were an amazing bunch and the kids were absolutely ADORABLE! I ope the gift was a success!
Consider giving the gift of photography to someone you love! Enjoy!
My littlest nino at a Christmas party. LOVE. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to ALL it has been one wonderful year of photography. SO much more to post. Oh, and HOW CUTE is this onesie? One of my dear friends sewed them, he looks so darn handsome (and maybe a little wide-eyed, haha). Happy Holidays!
Being an Austin native I have the opportunity to work with a lot of people I know, or know through someone. I love this and am always overjoyed when I have one of these sessions. This engagement session is one of my very dearest and best friends little sister and her fiance. I am so delighted to get to document Linsday and Jordan’s big day, and all the excitement that leads up to it! Lindsay and Jordan live in NYC, and had already had some engagement photos taken there. However, Lindsay wanted some photos done in Austin as well (who wouldn’t right, Austin is the greatest)! So we set out to get those quintessential Austin photographs. We started on South Congress for a little funky Austin ambiance and then headed down to the Long Center for a little Austin skyline at dusk. We had a great time! Lindsay and Jordan are fun, ready for anything, and absolutely adorable. I simply cannot wait for the big day! Congrats on the engagement you two!
I am so excited to finally have a moment to sit down and blog about this family session. It was a really fun one. I loved it for many reasons. For starters, what a great family. The kids were amazingly kind and caring. Mom and dad seemed to really enjoy stepping back and watching their kids be, well kids. I loved it. On top of that, the weather was working in our favor. We almost called the session off because a storm was supposedly rolling our way. Instead we had these dark stormy clouds on one side of us, and the beautiful setting sun on the other. It was perfect. Anyway, I’ll stop jabbering on endlessly about my adoration of this crew and let the photos tell the story. Enjoy!
It was littlest E’s 2nd birthday, so we had a special little scarves session at the end to celebrate!
Over Thanksgiving we made our annual pilgrimage to Elgin, TX to cut down a Christmas Tree. This is a lovely tradition that we started many years ago and have enjoyed since. It is a full on family affair. Anyway, I took my camera along for the ride.
Austin Newborn Photographer: Welcome to the World Big Guy
I am a little behind on my blog. It has been the busiest month (which is awesome), but now it is time to catch up. Well, what better way to start then with a lovely newborn/family session. Little Ethan is welcomed into this world with two big sisters ready to love on him! He is adorable. I can just tell mom and dad are bursting with pride.
Now, little E made this a little tricky. We all know that newborns sleep A LOT, right? Well, not Mr. E. He did not sleep a wink during this session, he just wanted to snuggle up with mommy the entire time. Imagine that (being a mom of two boys I am pretty confident that baby boys are extra snugly)! In all honesty though, there is not much sweeter than a little one with mom. After we spent a little time inside we headed out to the park. We went to this beautiful park in the Block Creek neighborhood in Leander. It actually looked a little fall-ish there, which is hard to find in Texas. Little E tanked out for these photos.
Thanks mom and dad for welcoming into your home to photograph your new baby and beautiful daughters. Congrats a million times over!
Beautiful big sister is a cheerleader. She showed me some of her acrobatic skills! Awesome!!
Hey buddy, give your mom some rest okay.

During the Holiday season there are a lot of people who need a few family photos for their Holiday cards. Enter the Holiday Mini-Sessions. These sessions only last 30 minutes, are at one location, with no outfit changes. While these sessions are short and simple, there is ample time to capture wonderful images for your family. This year I was busting at the seams with Holiday-Mini sessions. So many, in fact, that I think I’ll move this offer up to October next year in order to allow more time between the shoots and the holidays. Whew, it was a whirlwind, but a fun one!
We did this mini-sessions at the Avery Ranch Golf Course. Who knew this would be such a lovely location. There was plenty to work with and everything was just so pristine and green. I would work here any day. I had a great time with this crew. I just get the best clients I think.
I had a tough time titling this blog because this photo session had two things happening. The primary focus of this photo shoot was little Miss A. She wanted some professional photos for a talent scout. Then, we also did some family work while we were out and about. So, as you’ll see we have A LOT more photos of Miss A! Maybe I should of called it Austin Tween Photography. Well, I am just as honored as can be to have had the opportunity to work with the Gray Family. Mom and I taught together last year and she contacted me about this session. I LOVE working with people I know, I just feel so special getting a little insight into their family.
Anyway, this sessions was awesome. First off, you could really feel the love between these three. I could tell they were a tight knit group. Secondly, it is SUCH A DELIGHT to work with older children. Miss A was enthusiastic, ready for anything, and could have posed all day. She was mature, but also still a kid all at the same time. I could go on, and on, and on, but alas you are probably here for the photos.
Oh, and one more thing…
Let me say I rarely get the opportunity to work with older children. That is, until this weekend. I had four sessions in a row with middle/high school aged children and they were ALL a delight! It eases my fears about my children getting older!
Without much further ado, I present the Gray Family!
Thanks for stopping by, leave this family some love in the comments section!
