I have been really excited about this session. There is nothing I love more than newborn sessions. I LOVE photographing newborns within their first couple weeks of life. The last few infants I have photographed have not slept a wink during their sessions. I have to admit, I really enjoy this. I LOVE photographing WIDE AWAKE babies for many reasons. Most importantly YOU GET TO SEE THEIR EYES and YOU GET TO CAPTURE their EARLIEST little expressions. This is a treasure.
But, what was a real treasure was working with little E and family. I basically hung out with mom and dad for a couple hours as they snuggled and loved on their perfect new addition. It was wonderful, and laid back. You could feel the love, the excitement, and the pride. I love newborn sessions, did I say that already? It just doesn’t get much better. What a special, special time.
OH and her hair! I have never seen so much hair on a newborn. So pretty!!
Congrats on the beautiful baby. She is spectacular in every way!
Smiling with her eyes.
I made her mad, momentarily. She recovered and continued to be a happy little camper.
Such a loving moment, I had to get it from every angle. Then I turned off the flash a little and worked in some dramatic natural light.
And into the precious nursery…
I don’t get this as a mother of boys, so I might be a tad jealous of all the pink, tutus, and FAO Schwarz accessories. So fun!
and the older brother, he was confused.
I had a great time. What an amazing session. As always, I am honored to have been part of such a wonderful moment in time!
I am working on the most beautiful soul singing newborn session right now and fighting the urge to just post everything photo by photo as I edit. I’m in love, with the session that is. BUT, to satisfy my blog itch, I’ll post a few of my little love. Here we are on the mean suburban streets at dusk. His drawers are sagging, but this might be a problem he fights his entire life. Loving the simplicity of life at three.
Wouldn’t you give anything to be this intrigued by rain gutters again?
Somehow Hollis is a half a year old today. TIME SLOW ON DOWN NOW. Hollis, you are:
hilarious, active, smiley, social, grabby, goofy, loveable, sweet, and perfect. I love you uniquely for who you are, and you are without a doubt your own man.
I love the way you: laugh out lout at your brother, the way you love sucking on the sides of glasses of ice fresh water, the way you bounce in your bouncy seat, the way you yell when your tired, the fact that you really don’t cry much but totally melt down about 30 seconds before I start feeding you, the way you burrow your little head in my chest when someone makes you smile, and the way you bathe like a wild man always dunking your head in the bath and then choking, I love how you trap everything and shove it into your mouth, I love the way you don’t wake up when I set off the alarm but the sound of me typing causes you to stir (this just happened). You are remarkable in every sense of the word.
Okay, so I know I my youngest is only 6 months old, but I already miss this. This my-life-has-just-changed-forever (in a miraculously perfect way) goodness. I love these moments, and I am so happy to have been there to meet Mr. C in his first week of life. What a sweet blessing. I love photographing newborns. I don’t think there is anything more rewarding in the world. And speaking of the world, welcome to it Conley! Enjoy.
Oh, what a sweet little boy. I bet he looks different already. Congrats on the beautiful addition, he is perfect & precious.
I was so blessed over the holidays to have the opportunity to get to photograph some of my best friends’ babies. I really look forward to these sessions as it is so important to be part of their little lives. Mom and I have been best friends for almost 20 years (did I really just say that, yikes I feel old suddenly)! She is an amazing person, as is her husband, and undoubtedly her son will be too. I love watching him grow and change, such a cutie pie.
You have probably seen this little guy before. I did his newborn session almost a year ago. Here is how he looked then.
He was teeny tiny. NOW, he is a big boy crawling around and having a lovely time. I love babies at this age. They are SO fun to be around, but still babies. Anyway, enjoy the photographs and check out all of little H’s expressions! He is SUCH a character!
Thanks for sharing your time with me, your family is absolutely gorgeous!
