I have been really excited about this session. There is nothing I love more than newborn sessions. I LOVE photographing newborns within their first couple weeks of life. The last few infants I have photographed have not slept a wink during their sessions. I have to admit, I really enjoy this. I LOVE photographing WIDE AWAKE babies for many reasons. Most importantly YOU GET TO SEE THEIR EYES and YOU GET TO CAPTURE their EARLIEST little expressions. This is a treasure.
But, what was a real treasure was working with little E and family. I basically hung out with mom and dad for a couple hours as they snuggled and loved on their perfect new addition. It was wonderful, and laid back. You could feel the love, the excitement, and the pride. I love newborn sessions, did I say that already? It just doesn’t get much better. What a special, special time.
OH and her hair! I have never seen so much hair on a newborn. So pretty!!
Congrats on the beautiful baby. She is spectacular in every way!
Smiling with her eyes.
I made her mad, momentarily. She recovered and continued to be a happy little camper.
Such a loving moment, I had to get it from every angle. Then I turned off the flash a little and worked in some dramatic natural light.
And into the precious nursery…
I don’t get this as a mother of boys, so I might be a tad jealous of all the pink, tutus, and FAO Schwarz accessories. So fun!
and the older brother, he was confused.
I had a great time. What an amazing session. As always, I am honored to have been part of such a wonderful moment in time!
Just one more. I just like him, and I can’t resist. Tomorrow will be a FULL client post and I am very excited about it!
I am currently editing this session and my heart is nearly bursting because this little baby is sooooooooooo cute. Only 7 days old! Much, much, much more to come.
I don’t recognize this little guy at all. He is in constant flux growing and changing at exponential speed. What a precious gem he is, my littlest love bug.
Somehow Hollis is a half a year old today. TIME SLOW ON DOWN NOW. Hollis, you are:
hilarious, active, smiley, social, grabby, goofy, loveable, sweet, and perfect. I love you uniquely for who you are, and you are without a doubt your own man.
I love the way you: laugh out lout at your brother, the way you love sucking on the sides of glasses of ice fresh water, the way you bounce in your bouncy seat, the way you yell when your tired, the fact that you really don’t cry much but totally melt down about 30 seconds before I start feeding you, the way you burrow your little head in my chest when someone makes you smile, and the way you bathe like a wild man always dunking your head in the bath and then choking, I love how you trap everything and shove it into your mouth, I love the way you don’t wake up when I set off the alarm but the sound of me typing causes you to stir (this just happened). You are remarkable in every sense of the word.
Here is my little love playing in the sunset…
big brother stepped in for a bit…
Just now getting the time to go through family photos from the holidays. This one just makes me happy, that’s all. A little Christmas magic.
