Austin Children’s Photographer: Big Kids Photography! Growing Up Like Weeds- Austin, TX

This photography session was also a gift. It was a gift from me, to my aunt. Last time I was at their house I noticed they had not had any professional portraits done since the babies were little. I knew I could remedy this problem, and thus this session happened.

These are my little cousins. I remember the day that they were born. I remember when R was born specifically because the San Antonio Spurs won the national title. They won the national title game while we were sitting in the hospital waiting for the baby to arrive. I am not a big sports fan, but this side of the family are all San Antonio natives so it was a big deal. I remember when my Aunt and Uncle announces that they were going to have T. We were all at my Grandpa’s house and my Uncle had trouble getting everyone’s attention because everyone was talking over one another (typical- haha). Anyway, my family is close. I love them for that and I love spending time with them. My how time flies. These two just keep growing.

I love photographing older children. Even though they might complain at first, I think the kids always have fun to. They love showing off what they can do, sharing ideas for portraits, and they love being silly.

Children are inherently spectacular, at every age.

Such goofballs. Got to love them!

Austin Baby Photographer: Sweet Baby Girl- Austin, TX

It was a chilly morning at the park, but a lovely day for photographs. These are of my cousins sweet baby girl at 8 months. There is really no need to mention it, because it is obvious in the photographs, but Baby J has the most BEAUTIFUL eyes in the world (they are just so vivid, engaging, curious, and blue as blue can be). She also happens to have one of the most adorable little faces to go with her pretty eyes. What a princess. I loved having a little time to see my cousin as an amazing father and family man. They are a precious group and I am so proud to call them family.

Here are a few images from our little session at Rattan Creek Park. Such a beautiful family.

After some park time, we headed to my house for a couple of shots in her cute little bloomers.

Too cute. Congrats y’all she is PERFECT!

Austin Baby Photographer: Just when I thought…

Austin Family Photographer: Lakeway, TX

Happy Holidays! I am so glad to be back and blogging after a week of holiday eating, visits from Santa, and family fun! I love this time of year. I LOVE Christmas time. Thinking of the holidays made me think about what a wonderful gift a photography session can be. Here is an example of a mini-session that I completed in November that was a family gift. Mini-sessions are really meant for families that are looking for a quick simple shoot. They are often a little more traditional than my typical full length session (as the basis is usually for a much needed “family photo”). However, there is always a little time for some candid fun and fun shoots in these mini-sessions. I will be offering a round of Spring Mini-Sessions in March.

This session was absolutely lovely. I got to work with a beautiful, kind group of people and found a new fantastic location. We worked in the Rough Hollow division in Lakeway, TX. Lakeway is just busting with beautiful photo opportunities as it has lovely views of the Texas Hill Country, the lakes, and beautiful greenery.

As always I think the C family for the wonderful opportunity to work with them. They were an amazing bunch and the kids were absolutely ADORABLE! I ope the gift was a success!

Consider giving the gift of photography to someone you love! Enjoy!

What a fabulous little session. Thanks C Family for giving me the wonderful opportunity to photograph your family. Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas from Autry Photography

My littlest nino at a Christmas party. LOVE. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to ALL it has been one wonderful year of photography. SO much more to post. Oh, and HOW CUTE is this onesie? One of my dear friends sewed them, he looks so darn handsome (and maybe a little wide-eyed, haha). Happy Holidays!

Need I say more…

Looking forward to editing this session. Until then, a sneak peak.

Austin Engagement Photographer: South Congress & Long Center Park- Austin, TX

Being an Austin native I have the opportunity to work with a lot of people I know, or know through someone. I love this and am always overjoyed when I have one of these sessions. This engagement session is one of my very dearest and best friends little sister and her fiance. I am so delighted to get to document Linsday and Jordan’s big day, and all the excitement that leads up to it! Lindsay and Jordan live in NYC, and had already had some engagement photos taken there. However, Lindsay wanted some photos done in Austin as well (who wouldn’t right, Austin is the greatest)! So we set out to get those quintessential Austin photographs. We started on South Congress for a little funky Austin ambiance and then headed down to the Long Center for a little Austin skyline at dusk. We had a great time! Lindsay and Jordan are fun, ready for anything, and absolutely adorable. I simply cannot wait for the big day! Congrats on the engagement you two!

Had a wonderful time, congrats and enjoy your engagement!!!

Austin Family Photographer: Rattan Creek Park- Austin, TX

I am so excited to finally have a moment to sit down and blog about this family session. It was a really fun one. I loved it for many reasons. For starters, what a great family. The kids were amazingly kind and caring. Mom and dad seemed to really enjoy stepping back and watching their kids be, well kids. I loved it. On top of that, the weather was working in our favor. We almost called the session off because a storm was supposedly rolling our way. Instead we had these dark stormy clouds on one side of us, and the beautiful setting sun on the other. It was perfect. Anyway, I’ll stop jabbering on endlessly about my adoration of this crew and let the photos tell the story. Enjoy!

It was littlest E’s 2nd birthday, so we had a special little scarves session at the end to celebrate!

My little escape into black & white…

Thanks for a wonderful session.

Austin Children’s & Baby Photographer: My Little Loves at the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm

Over Thanksgiving we made our annual pilgrimage to Elgin, TX to cut down a Christmas Tree. This is a lovely tradition that we started many years ago and have enjoyed since. It is a full on family affair. Anyway, I took my camera along for the ride.

wait a minute.. this one is ME, this rarely happens. Thanks husband :)

Austin Newborn Photographer: Welcome Little Man: Leander, TX

Austin Newborn Photographer: Welcome to the World Big Guy

I am a little behind on my blog. It has been the busiest month (which is awesome), but now it is time to catch up. Well, what better way to start then with a lovely newborn/family session. Little Ethan is welcomed into this world with two big sisters ready to love on him! He is adorable. I can just tell mom and dad are bursting with pride.

Now, little E made this a little tricky. We all know that newborns sleep A LOT, right? Well, not Mr. E. He did not sleep a wink during this session, he just wanted to snuggle up with mommy the entire time. Imagine that (being a mom of two boys I am pretty confident that baby boys are extra snugly)! In all honesty though, there is not much sweeter than a little one with mom. After we spent a little time inside we headed out to the park. We went to this beautiful park in the Block Creek neighborhood in Leander. It actually looked a little fall-ish there, which is hard to find in Texas. Little E tanked out for these photos.

Thanks mom and dad for welcoming into your home to photograph your new baby and beautiful daughters. Congrats a million times over!

Beautiful big sister is a cheerleader. She showed me some of her acrobatic skills! Awesome!!

Hey buddy, give your mom some rest okay.
